24/7 Emergency & Critical Care

As a loving pet parent, you never want to see your four-legged friend in distress. Unfortunately, unexpected illnesses and sudden accidents can occur at any time. The way you handle these types of situations can make all the difference in the world for your loved one. At Town and Country Animal Hospital, we want you to know that you’ve got a dedicated team in your corner. You can rest easy knowing that we’ll be there for you in your time of need.

Our hospital is equipped to provide life-saving critical care at a moment’s notice, including after-hours emergencies. This allows our clients to have access to local urgent care without having to drive 30 miles to the nearest emergency clinic. It also allows you and your pet to see the doctors and staff you are already familiar with.

Our personal knowledge of your pet, coupled with our experience in emergency medicine allows us to quickly diagnose problems and deliver timely and effective care. Most importantly, we will handle your loved one’s case with the utmost compassion, doing everything within our power to achieve a positive outcome.

Some of the signs that your pet may require urgent medical attention include:

  • Difficulty breathing
  • Ingestion of a foreign object or toxic substance
  • Broken bones
  • Cuts, lacerations or puncture wounds
  • Vomiting or diarrhea lasting longer than 24 hours
  • Bleeding
  • Trauma, such as a fall or being hit by a car
  • Swollen or tender abdomen
  • Difficulty urinating
  • Lameness
  • Disorientation
  • Foaming at the mouth
  • Convulsions/seizures
  • Loss of consciousness

If you notice your companion exhibiting any of these signs, it’s time to call for help right away. At Town and Country Animal Hospital, we always recommend calling ahead when an emergency occurs. This allows us to evaluate the situation and provide first aid instructions over the phone. It also lets us prepare the hospital and other team members for your pet’s arrival. Of course, should the nature of your pet’s emergency not allow time for a phone call, don’t hesitate to come in directly to our office during regular hours for immediate attention. After regular hours, please call ahead at (706) 499-9104.

We sincerely hope you never experience the need for urgent veterinary care. If you do, however, we want you to know who to call. The team at Town and Country Animal Hospital will be here to provide the highest level of care available – 24/7/365. You can count on us!
